Statement from Prudential
We have received notice from the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) that Prudential will be reviewed in Stage 3 of the agency’s review process to determine whether the company meets the criteria as a systemically important financial institution under the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
The company plans to continue its ongoing discussions with regulators about the differences between banks and insurance companies as they consider whether insurance companies are systemically important.
