Prudential Group Insurance (Prudential) is a host sponsor of the National Disabled Veterans Sports Clinic in Snowmass, Colorado, April 3-8, which provides adaptive sports instruction for Veterans and active-duty service personnel who have a disability. Prudential's Office of Veterans Initiatives provided the funding.
"The clinic aligns perfectly with our commitment to financial wellness and our critical priorities of disability and life," says Paul Virtell, vice president, Office of Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance. The clinic, celebrating its 30th year, gives veterans one-on-one specialized ski instruction, as well as in sled hockey, rock climbing, snowmobiling and scuba diving, and offers educational workshops and seminars. It will also give a group of Prudential volunteers the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of "sweeping the sheet for the stone." The volunteers are helping to staff the curling event at the clinic and will have a chance to interact with the veterans and take a lesson or two.
"We are delighted to show our support for the men and women who have given so much for our country," Virtell adds.
