Prudential earns No. 1 ranking among FORTUNE® 2016 World’s Most Admired Companies in the Insurance: Life and Health category

Photo: Fortune logoPrudential earned the No. 1 spot on FORTUNE® magazine's 2016 World's Most Admired Companies® list in the "Insurance: Life/Health" category. That represents a two-spot jump from the previous two years, when Prudential finished third. The list identifies the companies that are held in the highest regard overall and within their industries.

FORTUNE arrived at its rankings by evaluating 652 companies from 30 countries. Executives, directors and analysts were asked to rate companies in their own industries on nine criteria—innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products/services and global competitiveness. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry to be listed.

Prudential received the top score in its industry for three of those criteria, long-term investment value, global competitiveness and people management, as well as high marks for innovation and quality of management.
