Jan. 8, 2025

Group Insurance business introduces cutting-edge capabilities to make planning leaves from work easier and more accessible.

NEWARK, N.J.Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) announced today its Group Insurance business will collaborate with Penguin Benefits to launch an innovative leave planning experience that helps simplify leaves for employees and their employers.

Prudential is among the first providers to offer this tool configured to help employees understand their short-term disability and company-sponsored leave options, in addition to federal and state leave programs. The cutting-edge leave planning tool will augment Prudential’s existing absence management offering for employers and provide a simplified and personalized planning experience for their employees.

“Prudential is committed to continuously enhancing the workplace benefits experience for the organizations and employees we serve,” said Jess Gillespie, Prudential’s head of Group Insurance Product & Underwriting. “This collaboration is an important part of our efforts to simplify leaves for everyone.”

Prudential is offering the tool through a collaboration with Penguin Benefits, a leader in developing innovative solutions for demystifying leaves. Through this tool, Prudential will be able to offer employees access to real-time, personalized information about their leave options, benefits, timelines, and a checklist of additional considerations.

“We’re thrilled that Prudential has chosen to deliver our comprehensive planning tool to their absence clients,” said Chengchen “CC” Li, Penguin’s chief executive officer. “Given Prudential’s commitment to empowering working parents to obtain financial well-being and peace of mind during important life events, we’re pleased to support their mission through our cutting-edge leave planning platform.”

Prudential will begin implementing the leave planning tool for Group Insurance Absence customers in 2025 as part of a pipeline of new capabilities and collaborations designed to help employees and employers better navigate leaves. Parental leave planning for expectant birth, adoptive and foster parents will be the initial focus of the tool, with additional employee leave types to follow.
