Michael Paulus is co-founder at Assurance, where he leads emerging businesses.
Paulus helped launch Assurance in 2016 in Bellevue, Washington, to improve the personal and financial wellness of every individual. The company uses a combination of advanced data science and human expertise to match people with customized solutions spanning life, health, Medicare and auto insurance.
Previously, Paulus was a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, a $7.5 billion venture capital firm, focusing on fintech and InsurTech investments. Before joining Andreessen Horowitz, Paulus was founding president of Addepar, where he patented technology that models and reports on more than $1.3 trillion in financial assets the company handles.
Paulus earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University.
