NEWARK, N.J., May 19, 2020 – Technology continues to raise the bar for user experience across industries. The simplicity, speed and ease of interacting with businesses becomes even more paramount as we navigate today’s uncertain times. Now Prudential Group Insurance, a business unit of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU), is helping to improve the process of choosing and managing group benefits with new and enhanced partnerships that will provide smoother, real-time and personalized interactions.

The partnerships include a new program from PlanSource®, which will enable immediate data sharing, as well as formalized agreements with benefits administration technology providers including Empyrean® and Businessolver® for improved user experience and smoother integration with existing HR platforms. Each partnership will make it easier for both employers and employees to manage benefits while working from home, particularly as more individuals look to tap into products that provide financial support amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
PlanSource Boost will provide advanced application programming interface (API) technology for faster, secure data sharing and processing, which will advance Prudential’s market-leading capability to offer real-time approval for voluntary benefits applications, and single sign-on (SSO) capabilities that eliminate the need for multiple usernames and passwords. This will create a more seamless experience for employees with fewer log-in prompts, faster approvals and easy-to-follow next steps for claims processing.
“People want quick and intuitive online interactions in the best of times. When you add the stress of a pandemic to the fold, workers need to feel they have easy access to the products and resources needed to improve their financial stability,” says Leston Welsh, head of products for Prudential Group Insurance. “Simplified health statements and single sign-on capabilities are two areas that will greatly improve how our customers interact with their benefits platform, and we expect to expand the use of API technology even further.”
For employers, these technology enhancements will create more efficiency and reduce administrative burdens to shorten the implementation timeline and improve enrollment events. Employers will also have dedicated resources from both Prudential and its partner vendors to help increase benefits enrollment, education and engagement, thus improving workers’ overall financial wellness and protection.
“User experience is equally as important for the employer as it is for the employee,” says Jessica Gillespie, senior vice president and head of distribution for Prudential Group Insurance. “Prudential’s enhanced partnerships streamline product design and engagement. This removes the need for employers to handle tasks like filing claim data, for example, and allows them to focus on their teams and evolving business needs.”
