Black Americans share those same challenges but bear the burden of overcoming past economic and social injustices that have created barriers to building financial wealth.

New Jersey is the seventh state to declare June 12 as Women Veterans Appreciation Day, largely thanks to Lucy Del Gaudio, an Army veteran and program manager for Prudential Advisors, who helped launch a grassroots effort after learning how few services existed for New Jersey’s 26,000 female veterans.

NEWARK, N.J., May 7, 2019 – Rutgers University-Newark Chancellor Nancy Cantor announced today that Prudential Financial has committed $10 million to the Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC) at Rutgers-Newark – the largest donation ever to Rutgers-Newark – to create the Prudential Scholars Program for Newark residents.

The robots 15-year-old Aja Capel and her students build can follow complex commands, drive around, perform feats of strength, even battle other robots. But don’t worry—she’s not looking to build a robot army. Instead, she’s developing a diverse workforce of scientists and engineers that defy expectations—just like her. 

Doubling down on its commitment to make lives better by solving the financial challenges of our changing world, Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) is committing more than $180 million through 2025 to support young people aged 15-29 worldwide who lack access to school, training or regular jobs – a segment of the global population often referred to as opportunity youth. This is the largest financial private-sector investment in this group.

There’s no shortage of opportunities for Diane Beebe to help in her hometown of Cornwall, Connecticut, and the surrounding region. For her efforts—845 hours to be exact—Beebe was named Prudential’s 2018 Volunteer of the Year.

The first black mayor of a major northeastern city, Ken Gibson, who died last week, built a lasting partnership with Prudential, beginning with the development of Gateway Center.
